The Bossa Nova Hotel: Janey, Bruce Gaitsch, & Michael Sembello

In May of 2009, Janey, Michael Sembello, and Bruce Gaitsch formed a group called The Bossa Nova Hotel and released the album “Moon Island,” with EMI-Japan. A woman of many talents, Janey not only played keyboards and sang on every song, but she also arranged, recorded, and mixed the entire album herself. “Moon Island” won Best-Engineered Pop CD in Japan in December of 2009. In 2012, the Bossa Nova Hotel’s cover of “A Day In The Life Of A Fool” became the theme song for the popular Japanese TV show “LIFE,” and is still running today. In 2016 the Bossa Nova Hotel released their stunning version of Fragile as a balm for the troubled times we live in.

Starting with The Bossa Nova Hotel in 2010, Janey and her husband Bruce Gaitsch have  performed regularly at The Cotton Club in Tokyo, Japan. One of Janey’s most significant accomplishments occurred in 2013, when Lara Fabian released her critically acclaimed CD Le Secret. This album features fourteen songs co-written by Janey and Lara. Le Secret entered the French charts at #1 and is now available worldwide on iTunes and Amazon. Janey’s songs debuted in the U.S. at Carnegie Hall in New York City, December 27th, 2013, to a sold-out audience.
